Does Disneyland Have Bao Buns?

Yes, they do! This is definitely the best food to eat at Disneyland. And while they’re a plentiful food item at the Lunar New Year celebration in California Adventure, you’ll be happy to know you can find this delicious food item on Disneyland Resort Property year round! Where?! At The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland in Disneyland Park! Along with a couple different kinds of lumpia, they offer 3 different bao bun options:

  1. Vegetarian – “Spiced Vegetable”
  2. Chicken – “Lime Chicken”
  3. Ham – “Loco Moco”

You Can Skip The Dole Whip Line?!

Most people stop by The Tropical Hideaway for the fan-favorite Disneyland treat Dole Whip, but we’ve found that cast members are pretty cool with us bypassing the Dole Whip line if all we’re grabbing is some Bao. It’s not uncommon for us to Mobile Order some skewers from Bengal BBQ, another fantastic food at Disneyland, then grab some Bao from The Tropical Hideaway for a quick and tasty Disneyland meal!

Where Else Can You Find Bao At Disneyland?

Currently, the Carthay Circle Lounge in California Adventure has Soy-Ginger Braised Pork Belly Bao Buns on their menu. We tried this food at Disneyland Resort in November 2021, shortly after they debuted on the menu, and were absolutely blown away! We hope to see these stay on the menu permanently, but we recommend confirming before you go!

Wait! There’s More!

(But not for long…) Also at California Adventure, until February 13th, 2022, you can enjoy a variety of bao buns as part of the Lunar New Year celebration!

We were able to try 2 of the 3 bao bun options during our Lunar New Year celebration experience! While we we didn’t get to try the Kung Pao Bao at Lamplight Lounge, we loved the Baked Char Siu Bao from the Cappuccino Cart and the Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao from the Prosperity Bao & Buns marketplace kiosk! The baked bun was a great on-the-go snack option, and we enjoyed the steamed bun while we watched Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession. These buns definitely made the list of some of the best food to eat at Disneyland.

We shared some tips on how to make the most of the Lunar New Year celebration here!

Here’s to more yummy food at Disneyland that makes our trips more magical and memorable!
